The New York Police Department detained Goey Charles, 29, around 6 pm. He was interrogated on Monday and was ultimately charged with second-degree murder in the death of her 29-year-old girlfriend Vanessa Pierre, authorities and a source said on Tuesday morning.

A police source allegedly made “incriminating statements” during the interrogation leading up to Charles’ arrest. Additional details on the statements were not immediately available.

On Tuesday, NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison shared a shocking video showing a man later identified as Charles pulling Pierre’s body onto the sidewalk from the passenger side of a white sedan and walking towards the driver’s side before closing the door. .

In Harrison’s Tuesday morning tweet, pregnant and Hempstead, N.Y. Pierre, his address, was discovered at around 6 am on Friday morning, lying face-down on the sidewalk off the Horace Harding Highway in Queens.
According to the information provided by the police, Pierre’s body was found approximately 24 km from his home and approximately 27 km from Charles. The cause of death was not immediately clear.

Police say Goey Charles, 29, from Uniondale, L.I., was charged with murder on Monday evening, allegedly killing pregnant Vanessa Pierre just three months after birth.
Pierre was found face down alongside the Horace Harding Highway near Bell Blvd. Around 6 pm on Friday at Bayside.
Surveillance video caught a suspect leaving his remains. The police released this footage Tuesday as they announced the arrest of Charles.
A police source said Pierre was wearing pajamas with an orange shirt and one leg socks. He had a sweatshirt wrapped around his neck.
First responders found bruises on her neck and made researchers believe she was drowning.
Neighbors said Charles and Pierre had been dating for about a year.
