Susie Rabaca, a Southern California mother, survived a leukemia war long enough to give birth to healthy twins.
Rabaca, the mother of five, died with her family on Wednesday morning, her mother told Eyewitness News.
Eyewitness News brought the story of Rabaca when she was weeks away from giving birth in 2018 and when she needed a bone marrow transplant to treat leukemia.

So heartbreaking. Susie Rabaca fought leukemia, gave birth to twins and still managed to get 85,000+ people signed up for @BeTheMatch in her search for a bone marrow donor. She died this morning.

In response to his story, a record number of people signed up to be potential bone marrow donors, but he needed 100% matchmaking and his mixed heritage made it difficult to find a donor.
A perfect match was found and gave birth to twins soon after in December 2018.
Unfortunately, the cancer has returned and needs a second transplant.
“He fought until he had nothing to give,” Susie’s mother said in a social media post. “Susie’s story touched a lot of people and thousands of lives will be saved because of her. My daughter did not lose her war. She won! She’s a warrior!”
A GoFundMe page has been created to help the family and future education of Rabaca’s children.
