Seattle’s Summer Taylor death news came after Washington State Patrol announced on Saturday evening that the highway was closed and that it would arrest people protesting at Interstate-5.
The patrol posted the message on social media, saying the move was to protect the protesters.
“For the safety of all citizens, including protesters and drivers, pedestrians walking on the highway will be arrested,” the agency said.

The state police agency identified the suspect as Dawit Kelete, 27, a Seattle citizen who passed a closed I-5 highway on the wrong side and shot two protesters at midnight on Saturday.

An ambulance immediately arrived at the scene, and the two victims took Diaz Love & Summer Taylor to the Harborview Medical Center in a nearby hospital. Doctors reported that Taylor had life-threatening injuries after the accident.
