Steven Duffield A young boy who died in a terrible accident on Anlaby Road was named Steven Duffield, who was described by his heartbroken family as a ‘cheeky crack’ so loved by his family.
Steven was killed by a car crash on Anlaby Road Monday evening. He was riding his bike with his best friend, who was seriously injured and was being treated at the hospital.
The collision took place at around 6:10 pm, causing both children to be taken to the Hull Royal Revirmary, where Steven tragically died.
Steven’s devastated parents, Alison (43) and Micky (54), were being comforted by expert police liaison officers.

A ‘cheeky and curmudgeonly’ 10-year-old schoolboy who died after being hit by a blue BMW and a second child in Hull last night was named as Steven Duffield.
Steven and his best friend were on the same bike when they were hit by a car while going over an overpass around 6:10 p.m.
Both children were rushed to the Hull Royal Infirmary, where Steven tragically died. The second young man now fights for his life.
A 30-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of driving offenses in connection with the collision. Police investigations are ongoing.

Today, dozens of people gathered to launch balloons in a moving tribute to Steven in West Park.
His cousin Alan Duffield said: ‘I was only ten years old. He was a good boy, a cheeky and curmudgeon. Parents are devastated.
They are throwing some balloons in the park and then they come to see where it happened. I miss him a lot. I can’t say more than that. ‘
He said that Steven, a Hall Road School student, was a power line and was “crazy about cycling.”
Friends and family also gathered at the scene of the incident to pay tribute. One said: ‘My partner cradled the boy who was injured for 20 minutes in his arms. There was a large crowd here. ‘
Another woman said, “I had my whole life ahead of me.”
Less than 24 hours after the incident, emotional tributes to the ‘little angel’ have already begun to appear on the railings of the Anlaby Road overpass, just feet from the crash site.
Several colorful flowers were pinned to the bridge over the course of Tuesday, along with cards, one of which promises Steven “will never be forgotten.”
“RIP Steven, my little man,” says one. ‘We will miss you and we will never forget you. I can’t believe you left at such a young age. You will always be remembered as my little angel and my little man.

A 30-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of driving offenses in connection with the collision and was still in police custody today as the force’s investigations continue.
A crowdfunding page has also been created to help fund his funeral and give him the send-off he deserved.
A second message attached to the floral tributes also shared the thoughts of another family.
He says: ‘I am so sorry for the loss of your precious son Steve. Sending all our love. ‘
The tributes began to appear after nearby residents revealed their anguish over what they witnessed when they realized what had happened on their doorstep.
‘When I got out, I saw two people and the accident. It had already happened, ” said Ibraham Omar, a resident of Anlaby Road.
