A 37-year-old taxi driver is accused of murdering his 39-year-old wife weeks after burying his father in Pakistan.

Abida Karim, 39, was found dead by police in Leeds, West Yorkshire, at around 5.30 am yesterday.
Her husband, 37, Sajid Pervez, is charged with murder and will appear in the Leeds Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.


It appears that Karim returned home after burying his father in Pakistan last week.
The red brick terraced estate in Harehills now lies behind a police cordon while forensic experts work at home.
After Karim’s death, tributes rained down for my wife as her neighbors described her as a kind and caring mother.
One woman said: ‘She’s a really nice woman and I can’t believe she’s compassionate. She was a great mother. It was kindness. ‘

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said, “A man accused of murder after the death of a woman in Leeds will appear in court.
