Shortly after 21:00 local time, Mr. Hopkins was found seriously injured near the Grand Canal on Glenaree Bridge near Rathangan.
He was taken to the Naas General Hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.
A Garda officer told the court that on Sunday afternoon, Mr. Broughan was charged. When we were careful, we asked the court, “Are we going to Naas?”
The judge ordered the arrested defendants to appear again on Thursday via a video link.
