Who is Pat Kiernan

New York City news anchor Pat Kiernan messed up his lines and accidentally said that White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany had tested positive for cocaine instead of coronavirus.

Kiernan, a veteran newscaster on NY1, made the slip on Monday after learning that McEnany was the most recent member of President Donald Trump’s circle to test positive for COVID-19.

“Another member of Donald Trump’s inner circle testing positive for cocaine,” Keirnan said during the broadcast.

Kiernan quickly corrected himself, saying, ‘He tested positive for COVID.’

He later apologized on Twitter in response to someone who tweeted to him.

“You said he tested positive for cocaine.” What do you really have in mind, Pat ?! the person tweeted.

He replied, ‘Yes. COVID-19. Enough is happening without adding another dimension. Apologies for the mistake. ‘

Following news of McEnany’s announcement, Kiernan tweeted: ‘Do we need to change our approach to reporting and only list inner circle members who are COVID-FREE?’

McEnany spoke for the first time Monday night since testing positive, telling Fox News’ Sean Hannity that he is “feeling great” and “has no symptoms” of the virus.

‘You know I’m very lucky to have a mild case or just an asymptomatic case. You know my heart goes out to all those who have been truly affected by this and all those who have lost their lives, ” McEnany said.

Then he said he was “pleased to see that our commander-in-chief is doing well.”

Trump left Walter Reed Hospital on Monday and returned to the White House after spending three nights at the medical center.

“Seeing him on that balcony just showing that we will win, America will win, just when he is overcoming this disease was a really nice moment for our country.”
