A sheriff apologized to a black priest who explained that he was arrested when he called 911 on a group of white people who threatened to kill him after trying to throw a refrigerator into his property in Virginia. Bradley G. Pollock, a lawyer representing Sharp, told The Washington Post that he assumed that his client and Amanda Salyers were allowed to pour the refrigerator into McCray’s garbage, and that they returned to their property after McCray met them.

The post did not report any response to Pollock’s hate crime allegations, and other Salyers lawyers refused to comment or respond.
