JERSEY CITY, New Jersey – Authorities say a 13-year-old girl faces juvenile charges, including the shooting and murder of a man in New Jersey.

Shortly after Holmes was shot, Jersey City police found a 24-year-old man with abrasions. He was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center.
Why New jersey teenager was arrested
Prosecutors said Friday that a New Jersey teenager was arrested on Christmas Eve and charged with murdering a 35-year-old man.
Jersey City police arrested the 13-year-old girl around 7:00 pm. Thursday. Hudson County prosecutors say the boy faced murder, aggravated assault, illegal possession of firearms, and other crimes.
The charges stem from the murder of Niles Holmes on 10 December.
Officials in Jersey City responded at around 4:15 pm to the Martin Luther King Drive and Wilkinson Boulevard area. Prosecutors said in their press release on 10 December. The police found Holmes with multiple gunshot wounds in the upper part of his body.
Holmes was transferred to a district hospital and a few hours later he was announced dead. The county medical inspector decided that the death was murder.
Prosecutors say “shortly after the location of the first victim”, a 24-year-old from Jersey City was found with multiple abrasions on his arm. He was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
A law enforcement source told News 4 that the December 10 clash was not related to the gang, but was caused by a dispute between different groups.
