Hoover Police about Montez Moses Coleman
Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis said a suspect was arrested in the fiery death of Royta Giles, Jr. The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Montez Coleman in Birmingham. Coleman is currently charged with Murder and three Assault 2 Degrees attacks in Jefferson County Prison. Hoover Police said an oral discussion between a group of men led to the shooting of more than one armed person. All four firearm victims were innocent spectators caught in a crossfire. Wounded victims were treated and released. Hoover Police is currently searching for four suspects, possibly five more suspects.

Derzis said 22-year-old Montez Moses Miracle in Birmingham, Coleman, arguing with the other five men at 15:15 on the first floor of Galleria, near the food court. Friday.
Coleman said he was armed with a 5.56 caliber pistol hidden in his backpack.
“He fired his gun on the boy group, and many of them immediately turned to fire,” said the chief. “We believe that no one involved in the first discussion was injured, and all four victims in this case were innocent people caught crossfire.”
The police know they are not sure what the discussion is about, but at least three guns are fired. They are not sure how many shots to shoot.
“Thank God no more people were shot. These bullets went through this shopping center, ”Derzis said. “It’s incredible that no more is harmed.”
A few minutes after the first call to the Hoover 911 center, officers received reports of a firearm man working on the parking deck of the Hyatt Regency Birmingham – Wynfrey Hotel. “They found him and detained without incident,” he said.
Coleman was located by authorities and taken into custody.

Upon investigation of the incident, police said the suspect got into a verbal argument with a group of males on the first level of the mall, near the food court.
During the argument, police said the suspect armed himself with a 5.56 caliber pistol and fired towards the group of males and gunfire was returned.
Police said they believe no one involved in the initial argument was injured and all four of the victims were innocent by-standers caught in the crossfire.
Montez Moses Coleman is now in jail
Coleman was transferred from Hoover City Jail to Jefferson County Jail on Sunday afternoon.
Hoover Police said they are still trying to identify other parties involved in the incident and released several surveillance images of persons of interest.
