The 25-year-old man accused of a violent assault in downtown Portland Sunday night has been arrested for attacking a truck driver who was seen on video being violently beaten, jail records show.

The 25-year-old man who was charged with a violent attack in downtown Portland on Sunday night was arrested.
Portland police said Marquise Lee Love returned on Friday morning after working in coordination with detectives and the Multnomah County Attorney’s attorney.

Police identified Love as a suspect in an attack that was caught on camera after its release on Sunday and went viral on social media. The attack took place during a protest in downtown Portland.

According to the police, the series of events may have started around Southeast 4th Avenue and Southwest Taylor Street, when the victim, identified as Adam Haner, helped a woman who had some of her belongings stolen. Haner’s girlfriend, Tammie Martin, got out of Haner’s truck and crashed to the ground.

Then, around 10:30 pm, police said they answered a call near Southwest Taylor Street and Southwest Broadway, just a few blocks from the initial fight. Witnesses told police that people were chasing a white Ford truck that fell into the intersection.

Video taken from social media shows Haner getting out of the truck and being pushed to the ground.

According to the police, one man caught on video hitting Haner on the street is Aşk. In some images, Haner looks bloody and unconscious.

Haner was taken to a district hospital for treatment of his severe injuries. After Haner was released from the hospital, both Haner and Martin spoke to FOX 12 about their experiences.

 


On Thursday, police asked for help in finding a possible witness of the attack. Police said investigators had identified the witness.

“I am grateful to the suspect in this case surrender and for all his efforts to facilitate this safe solution,” Chief Chuck Lovell said. “Thank you to all members of the public who provided information and tips to our inspectors. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.”

The love is scheduled to appear in court on Monday afternoon.
