An elderly couple in Colorado was found missing Friday night and dead after midnight Saturday from bullet wounds.

Although the police did not say who was responsible, they said they did not expect to make any arrests in the incident.

The bodies of Lee and Stella Vigil were found near the Santa Fe Trail in Colorado Springs, according to KRDO.

The husband and wife were reported missing after failing to return from a march on Friday, KCNC reported.
The couple, in their 70s, was found dead by a search team consisting of law enforcement and relevant family members.

Lee and Stella Vigil were found dead on a hiking trail in Colorado Springs on Saturday. They both had gunshot wounds.

They first found the Vigils’ car hours after he was reported missing.

Bodies were found just after midnight on Saturday morning.

According to KKTV, both Lee and Stella Vigil were shot.

Reports said police announced on Sunday that they had identified everyone involved and did not expect to make any arrests.

Authorities did not go out and explain why they were not suspects in this case.
They also did not give details about where the couple was shot.

Autopsies are being done on the corpses.
