ANC announced the death of Isithwalandwe / Seaparankwe John Nkadimeng, who celebrated his 93th birthday in June.

ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe said in a statement that the party needs Nkadimeng more than ever when trying to redefine its values ​​and morals to determine a new dawn of the leadership of the South African community.

“Ntate Nkadimeng has been rewarded with the Golden Luthuli Order for dedicating his entire adult life to the struggle for liberation, workers’ rights and forming a united union federation.”

Nkadimeng was last seen publicly when President Cyril Ramaphosa and the first six visited their home in April 2019 to give the party’s highest honor.

It was known as an instrumental figure in the foundation of the union federation Cosatu.

John Nkadimeng Career Life

Pule said that Nkadimeng was the general secretary of the underground South African Trade Union Congress (Sactu) in 1983 and remained committed to the trade union movement until its last breath.

As the leader of Sactu, Nkadimeng worked tirelessly for the ideal worker union in a single national federation.
He was later detained during the Defiance Campaign in 1952 and was one of 156 congress activists accused of treason in the 1956 Treaty Case.
