A Newcastle University student who died Saturday from Newtownhamilton, County Armagh, was described by his former school as an “exemplary student”.
18-year-old Jeni Larmour was vice principal at the Armagh Royal School.
He was one of four people who died in drug-related suspicious incidents in the north east of England over the weekend.
“Given his academic talent and personality, there is no doubt that Jeni has a bright future ahead of him,” said the school.

Ms. Larmour was found dead in the student dormitory on Richardson Road in Newcastle, shortly after 06:00.
An 18-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class B drugs, was released on police bail.

In a Facebook post, the Armagh Royal School said that Ms. Larmour has “many of the values โ€‹โ€‹this school is trying to promote”.
“His outstanding qualities as a student were acknowledged when he was appointed assistant headgirl in his final year, performing this role to a very high standard.” Said.


“It was Jeni’s passion to go to the Royal School, and he never wasted any of the opportunities presented to him here.”
The teenager started studying architecture and urban planning at Newcastle University last month.
Newcastle University spokesperson: “We are shocked and saddened to learn about the death of one of our students, and our outreach teams are offering support to those affected.” Said.

A Co Armagh school pays homage to a “distinguished” former student who died tragically in England over the weekend.

Jeni Larmour (18) was found unconscious at 6 am Saturday morning at their residence in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

An 18-year-old man was arrested and later released on police bail while investigations into the student’s death continued.

A spokesperson for the Northumbria Police said: โ€œOn Saturday morning at 06.06, police received a report via the ambulance service of an unresponsive woman at an address on Richardson Road in Newcastle.

โ€œUnfortunately, emergency services attended, where an 18-year-old woman reportedly died at the scene.

Investigations into the circumstances of her death are ongoing. Her closest relative was informed and is currently supported by expert officers.

“The investigation is at an early stage, but it is not believed to be a death related to Kovid-19.”

Originally from Newtownhamilton, the youngster is only weeks away from her first year studying architecture and urban planning at Newcastle University.

Moving to Newcastle only in August, Jeni was a former student of the Armagh Royal School and was appointed Deputy Principal in her final year.

Graham Montgomery, principal paying tribute, said Jeni was an “exemplary student” and was highly respected in the school community.

โ€œIt was Jeni’s passion to go to the Royal School, and she never wasted any of the opportunities offered to him here. Jeni threw herself into school with enthusiasm, โ€Mr. Montgomery said.

He was part of the highly successful United Cadet Force “mile skills” team and worked closely with young students to encourage them to develop their skills.

โ€œThe capacity to encourage others and show leadership was evident when she was selected for the prominent role of Student Leader at Gordonstoun International Summer School in the summer of 2019.

He was a very valuable member of the Chamber Choir and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. When she masterfully played the role of Madame de la Grande Bouche in Walt Disney’s school production of “Beauty and the Beast,” she combined this beautiful voice and brilliant comic timing.

“The ASHA team, who spent 10 days in the outskirts of Trilok Puri in Jeni, New Delhi, in October 2019, was part of the school’s signature charity project. This trip required a significant commitment and was the result of a year of fundraising by Jeni and other team members.”

Mr. Montgomery added: โ€œJeni was an open-minded, spirited and independent-minded girl that she was happy to express respectfully, and she had a developed sense of justice. Thanks to her work on the school council, she was instrumental in promoting plans to ‘green’ the school grounds through tree planting.

โ€œGiven her academic talent and personality, we have no doubt that Jeni has a bright future ahead of him, and we feel suddenly cut short. In this tragic time, we convey our sincere sympathy for her many friends, family, brothers and parents and provide them with our prayers and practical support. ”
