Upson County Sheriff Dan Kilgore told CNN that 35-year-old trainer Nick Esposito from Newnan and Warner Robins died at the scene.

“After leaving the plane, the primary parachute could not open properly and made a turn,” Kilgore said.
The emergency parachute was deployed at a very low height, but it was never fully opened.

Sheriff said that Esposito is an experienced skydiver and Skydive Atlanta employee located at Thomaston-Upson County Airport, about 60 miles south of Atlanta.

In addition to tragedy, skydiving deaths are rare.

Jeanna Triplicata Waiting for family

Her family, her brother, her 9-year-old sister Julia and her sister’s friend were waiting and it was taking too long.
His father said that sometimes the airport should land in the field.

Some members of the family began to panic because they did not know anything.
“We get on the van and just race at the airport. “We had to cross the track and didn’t really care,” Triplicata said.
“We heard someone say you saw police lights.”

That was when they knew something had happened.

At this point his father said, “You know, it’s safe. This doesn’t happen. ”
Maybe he injured the ankle during the landing, he thought.

As the family approached the field, there were several deputy sheriffs there.
Her father says, “He says he doesn’t look good to us and we lost that time.
There were hours at this point, but when the deputy sheriff took all the adults to a room, Triplicata knew that his life would change forever.

He guarded his wife Bridgette and said he would tell the children what had happened.
They were there for the wait, the uncertainty, and what came next.
“You usually try to protect something from your children, especially young children,” Triplicata said.
“I felt very bad. You shouldn’t see anything like that at the age of 9. ”

Jeanna and instructor Esposito died after a parachute malfunction.
According to Skydive Atlanta, eyewitnesses saw the main parachute deployment.
“Our community has been devastated for both our team members and their students and their families,” said Skydive Atlanta owner Trey Holladay.

“We’re a close-knit family because we’re all stunned and really lost for words. We talked to one of our relatives, and everyone wants privacy when they process and mourn. ”

Skydive Atlanta said it is working with authorities and the FAA to investigate what’s going on.
The statement said that the skydiving outlet has hosted tens of thousands of jumps since it opened in 1985.
“We want to know what happened and I hope we will know what will happen in the end and pray,” said Triplicata.
He said he was waiting for an answer during the investigation of the authorities.

“I never want this to happen again, so I want to know what happened,” Triplicata said.
“So a parent, husband, wife, daughter will never have to experience it again. This pain is almost unbearable. ”

The only thing that helped the family survive said that the love and support from people who love Jeanna and even some strangers are outpouring.

“We are in the state now in the state and in the country with all the divisions, it is good to see all this love and support,” he said.

“Jeanna would have liked it very much. He wanted us to be as comfortable and be loved as possible. ”
Public service

The Triplicata family plans to bury their daughters on Saturday after a public service in their hometown, Newnan.
The family created a GoFundMe campaign to help raise money for the funeral.

“I hate that this tragedy is the reason people learn more about himself and her life,” her father said.
“It was a tragedy, and at this point, we want Jeanna to be remembered as the person who is a great young lady.”
