Just after 11 o’clock on Monday morning, the crew was reported as a big bang at the end of 10th Street in Wheaton Town. When the teams arrived at the scene, they found a house with two victims.
The house was on the border between Chippewa County and Eau Claire County. According to Chippewa County Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk, the two victims were at home during the blast. A man in his 60s died and a woman was taken to a local hospital for injury. There is no word for this person’s status yet. Sheriff Kowalczyk does not know what caused the explosion right now.

Sheriff Kowalczyk talked about what the crew faced upon arrival.
“At this point, the house itself exploded for unknown reasons. I was at the scene; I have never seen anything that once looked like a fire. ”
A home-bound propane tank is a potential cause of the explosion, Kowalczyk says.
“The tank is solid, northeast of the house,” he says. “At this point, the only house apart from the explosion in the east was the only one that was damaged.”
The house sits near the border between Chippewa and Eau Claire County, which has decided who will lead the investigation.
“In the beginning, the call came and Eau Claire Police Department responded with Eau Claire County. When they arrived on the stage, they determined that it was indeed Chippewa County, and they informed us, and we responded to assist all the personal people involved with all our researchers. ”
Now, he says it depends on Chippewa County to understand exactly what happened.
“We have agents on the stage from states that are very qualified in such situations,” says Kowalczyk. “There could be a very long investigation about what it was and why it happened.”
To put into perspective how strong the explosion is, Kowalczyk says that the sofa is about 25 feet tossed in the air and stuck in a tree. The names and relationships of the two victims are not disclosed at this time and the situation of the injured victim is unknown. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
