Who is Andrew Kaczynski

CNN political reporter Andrew Kaczynski and his wife, Wall Street Journal reporter Rachel Louise Ensign, are mourning the death of their nine-month-old daughter, Francesca, who died on Christmas Eve after a battle with cancer.

Andrew, 31, posted the tragic news about his baby on Twitter.

“ We are heartbroken to have to announce that our beautiful daughter Francesca passed away last night in the arms of her mom and her dad. There will always be a bean-sized hole in our hearts for her. We are so grateful to have met her love. Francesca we love you, ‘he tweeted.

“Francesca is the strongest and most resilient person,” he wrote on September 12. “Less than a week ago she had two brain surgeries and is already home and smiling. I’m sure she will fight this. ‘
Sadly, after undergoing brain surgery, she suffered complications and developed meningitis.
Things did not seem to improve and she then faced a yeast infection as a result of complications from chemotherapy and was subsequently placed on a ventilator and life support.

On Christmas Eve, Kaczynski tweeted a prayer request.

“ If anyone can dedicate a prayer for our Bean this Christmas, I would only ask that they include Francesca in her thoughts and hope for a Christmas miracle for our family. ”
Hours later, the baby had passed away. Kaczynski posted an obituary on Twitter and a more extensive tribute to his son on Medium.
In her short life, Francesca was an outgoing, daring and curious baby. She had huge, deep brown eyes that followed everything her parents were doing. She loved eating and being hugged, especially at night. Francesca, a Brooklyn-based Sesame Street fan, enjoyed taking long walks around New York City and Boston, playing with her toys and balloons, attending speech therapy, and ‘stroking’ (that is, holding) the her cat Ryland ‘.
The couple added: ‘One of her favorite activities was practicing rolling in her crib from side to side. She loved seeing her parents, Andrew Kaczynski and Rachel Ensign, and greet them with the world’s biggest smile and an excited kick when she woke up from a nap. The many smiles from her sent an emotion across the world. She was very generous to them, even when most of her smiles were covered by masks and even when she faced challenges that would scare an adult, such as a cancer diagnosis or being born with hearing loss. ”
The parents said the girl “showed her parents a kind of love they never knew and will never forget.”

Kaczynski and Ensign also praised the staff at Boston Children’s Hospital, where Francesca was treated.

“Doctors and nurses would gasp with joy when they see her smile as they enter her room,” she wrote.
She loved music therapy and had some of the first big laughs of her playing with a balloon of Elmo, her favorite character from Sesame Street, from the hospital gift shop during occupational therapy. On Halloween, she dressed up with her nurses in a homemade Pasta Fagioli costume. ‘
Several stars and journalists offered their own messages of condolence after the death of the young man.
Heartbreakingly beautiful obituary. So sorry. God bless you and Rachel, ” actress Valerie Bertinelli tweeted.
‘Oh no. Andrew, I’m so sorry, ‘wrote actress Mia Farrow.
“All my sympathy, knowing that all the sympathy in the world is totally inadequate for such a loss,” wrote New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristoff.
“We are so sorry Andrew, and we are #TeamBeans forever,” said Today show host Willie Geist.
Andrew, I can only imagine what you and Rachel are feeling today. Francesca’s love will always be with you and, in time, you will heal. Praying for you and your family, ‘added journalist Megyn Kelly.
